This upcoming OFW CENTER has features to accommodate the needs of OFWs and their families.

The Global Filipino Movement Foundation, Inc. (GFM) is a 10-year-old non-stock, non-profit Christian foundation that was put up as a ministry of various Bible-believing church leaders and Christian businessmen for the millions of Overseas Filipino Workers. For 10 years now, and significantly despite the pandemic, GFM has extended ministry services to the OFWs and their families both internationally and locally.

GFM has partnered with government institutions that protect the rights and promote the welfare of overseas Filipino workers. It has a working partnership with POEA, OWWA, DFA along with its embassies and consulates as it helps facilitate information dissemination and education, repatriation and other services for the OFWs. It provides trauma & stress debriefing and counseling for OFWs. It conducts values formation through Pre- Departure Orientation Seminars (PDOS).

It works hand-in-hand with like-minded organizations like the Blas Ople Policy and Training Institute, International Justice Mission and other private groups and institutions here and abroad that promote the protection and welfare of OFWs.

During the pandemic, It expanded its services by providing information, events, and relevant program through online social media platforms: live streaming/radio-TV broadcast of GFM Abroad, GFM Abroad Expanded, Serbisyong OFW, Partnership with other NGOs both local and international, Online/On site paralegal counseling, gospel sharing thru GFM Abroad and Serbisyong OFW.

As a Christian organization, it collaborates with hundreds of churches both here and abroad to make them aware of the situations and concerns of OFWs and their families and how they can be part of the solution on the effects of migration among Filipinos.

It trains volunteers and establishes church-based Global Filipino Centers (GFCs) that serve as a “dulugang- bayan” that handle and receive OFW cases/paralegal counseling – these are then endorsed to partner government institutions (POEA, OWWA, DFA). Prayer and counseling – done online with OFWs abroad – OFW families are organized as OFW support groups. Trainings and seminars for building harmonious families and stronger marriages, for reintegration and for various livelihood possibilities are also offered.

Concept of the project

The proposed OFW CENTER is a 10-storey building envisioned to be a world-class ONE-STOP-SHOP facility for overseas Filipino workers and their families. It is a tribute and a ministry of the Global Filipino Movement to the Bayaning OFW in partnership with government agencies, Christian churches, Christian businessmen and various non-government organizations which have like-minded advocacies as the GFM.

The upcoming building is dedicated too Overseas Filipino Workers.

The location of the proposed OFW Center is very strategic since the Calabarzon region is the number one OFW- sending region in the Philippines. It will be situated within the future Alabang Global City, a prime property 45- hectare city fronting Daang Hari road, being developed by State Properties Corporation. Designed to be a mixed-use development, it is envisioned to create a Live-Work-Play-Rejuvenate type of environment with a central green park spanning almost the entire length of the future city. Its location is easily accessible via Alabang Skyway and MCX exits.

Versailles Alabang Village, the plush, horizontal-residential, gated community, occupies 30 of the 75-hectares property owned by State Properties Corporation. Fronting the residential subdivision on Daang Hari road is the upcoming Versailles Town Plaza, to be completed in the 2nd half of 2023.

The OFW CENTER is fully owned by the GFM and will be sustained by churches, Christian businessmen especially members of the board along with their respective associations.

GFM Building offered a wide variety of spaces for all functions.

The OFW CENTER will offer:

Period of construction / completion

Estimated project cost
Approximately, Php1,000,000,000.00 (property & building)

Funding
The OFW Center shall be funded and sustained through partnership programs with ministry-based organizations. Because GFM is a foundation, it will be sustained through a concerted effort of partnership with mega churches, Christian businessmen and other Christian organizations with like advocacies. This is proven possible through the 10-year history of the GFM in extending ministry to OFWs through the sphere of influence of the members of the Board who are part of various mega-Christian churches and generous Christian businessmen.
